Some merchants send pre-authorizations at higher amounts to test a card's validity. For example, a $25 gas purchase might display as $126. Pre-authorizations are common at the pump, for a hotel stay, or for a car rental. Even though you are notified of the amount being greater than what you actually paid, it will only clear your account for the correct amount.
No, once the authorization is made, the transaction will post to the account regardless of any controls or alerts set. Fraudulent or unauthorized transactions that you are made aware of, can be discussed with our Card Services Department at 1(833) 269-2621 during normal business hours for additional assistance.
You may have enrolled in alerts via Members 1st Online Banking, directly with VISA, or through eZCard Info. Please visit any of those three sites to review any alerts you may had enabled.
