Members 1st Federal Credit Union held its 27th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, June 3, at the Hershey Country Club in Derry Township, PA. More than 140 golfers and 75 sponsors raised over $165K to support and promote the incredible work of programs and initiatives across Central Pennsylvania. Since its inception, Members 1st has given out more than $1.3 million dollars through the annual event. This year’s beneficiaries included Members 1st Charitable Foundation, Midwest Food Bank, The Salvation Army – Harrisburg and Veterans Outreach of PA.

“Our Annual Charity Golf Classic is not just a day on the green; it is a chance for our community to come together and significantly impact the lives of those in need across central Pennsylvania. It reinforces our commitment to the credit union 'people helping people' philosophy, which is at the core of everything we do for our members, associates and communities,” said Michael Wilson, Members 1st President & CEO. “We are proud to support the important work of our Members 1st Charitable Foundation, Midwest Food Bank, The Salvation Army – Harrisburg and Veterans Outreach of PA. Together, we are creating meaningful change within our communities.”

Following the outing, representatives from each beneficiary attended a luncheon and check presentation. Each beneficiary who received funds works tirelessly to help communities across central Pennsylvania. The Members 1st Charitable Foundation supports local, grassroots organizations through grants to make them stronger, healthier and more financially sound. Midwest Food Bank aims to ease hunger and malnutrition and provide disaster relief. The Salvation Army - Harrisburg provides workforce development, nutrition education programs and emergency disaster services. Veterans Outreach of PA has built a village of 15 tiny homes surrounding a community center for veterans experiencing homelessness.
